Three workshops for people with disability, at Seaforth and Narrabeen:

* How to access an iPad (if you can't use your fingers)

* How to express your creativity through an iPad

WORKSHOP #1 : HOW TO ACCESS AN IPAD

What if you can’t use your fingers?

iPads are made for fingers. But there are lots of other options available if you are unable to use your fingers for iPad control. This workshop will outline alternative access methods, including:

  • Adjusting the settings to correct jerky or unsteady fingers.

  • Using special on-screen keyboards that make it easier to type.

  • Using a switch or large button to control your iPad.

  • Using a joystick for iPad control.

  • Using your voice to do lots of things on the iPad.

WORKSHOP #2 : INDEPENDENCE AT HOME

How can you control home appliances and devices with an iPad?

Do you know that you can control lights, lamps. television, fans, air conditioners - all through an iPad? How this can be done is the topic for this workshop. Whether you control your iPad by direct touch, a switch or your voice, you can be more independent at home!

WORKSHOP #3 : CREATIVITY THROUGH AN IPAD

How can an iPad help me to be more creative and develop my talents?

You can use your iPad to develop many different creative pursuits, regardless of your disability. This workshop will show you how. It will cover:

  • Music

  • Art

  • Photography

  • Poetry and creative writing
